Road Trip through the Balkans

An extensive, 6,000 mile, tour

of the countries of the Balkans region:

through Austria

into Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Macedonia of Yugoslavia,

around the coastline of mainland Greece and the Peloponnese,

crossing the Dardanelles into Asiatic Turkey,

returning across the Bosphorus into Bulgaria,

then back through Serbia, Austria and Switzerland.

Distance: 1300 miles

Itinerary:

1. Over Hurzen Pass ( 1 in 4 gradient ) from Austria and down to Kranjska Gora

2. Through Bled and Bohini in Triglav National Park.

3. Skiing on Mt Vogel in Julian Alps.

4. South to Adriatic coast.

5. Onto Krk island and into Krk town.

6. Along Adriatic / Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik.

7. In Dubrovnik old city and around ramparts.

S. Ferry across the Gulf of Kotor.

9. Inland through Macedonia and Serbia around Albania to Ohrid.
